Men's Basketball's Comeback Falls Short Against Lions

Bethany, W. Va – The Bethany College men's basketball team hosted the Penn St.-Altoona Lions Saturday afternoon inside Hummel Field House for a non-conference tilt. The Bison were dealt 98-95 loss to the Lions. Junior transfer, Dalton Hamrick led the Bison with a career high 23 points and nine boards.

GAME OVERVIEW

The Lions jumped to a quick 7-2 lead early in the first. Derek White Jr. got the Bison on the board with a layup. Penn St.-Altoona held a commanding lead throughout the first half until the Green and White came back and knotted the game at 22-22 off of a Dylan Furlong layup. The Bison were unable to get over the hump to get the lead over the Lions. The Bethany trailed 43-35 at the half.

The Bison cut the lead in the second half 43-41 off of a Hamrick shot from behind the arc. The Green and White continued to climb and battle back to cut the lead but couldn't get over the hump. Late in the second half, the Bison cut the Lion's lead to five off of a Hamrick free throw, 89-83 with 2:20 to go. Bethany continued to battle but their comeback fell short 98-95.
