Bethany takes loss at Westminster, 18-8

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (April 15) - The Bethany College men's lacrosse team fell to Westminster 18-8 on Saturday in an Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) matchup.

With the loss, Bethany falls to 3-9 overall and 0-4 in the conference, while Westminster moves to 6-5 on the year and 2-2 in the ORLC.

Jake Holland (Canton, Ohio/Jackson) led the offense tallying three goals and two assists, while Will Gatling (Baltimore, Md./Northwestern) and Anthony Helias (Erie, Pa./McDowell) also added two goals on the afternoon. 

The Titans scored the first four goals of the afternoon before Gatling broke the scoreboard for the Bison. Over the next four minutes, teams traded goals to end the first quarter with the score 5-2. 

Helias got the second quarter scoring started on a dish from Holland but the Titans answered back with two net finders. Minutes later Holland picked up his 16th goal of the year before the teams eventually entered the locker room with the score 9-4 in Westminster's favor.

Heading into the final quarter, the Titans led 14-5. Holland, Gatling and Weakliem all added marks in the fourth to close out the afternoon.

Next up, Bethany travels to Thiel on Wednesday, April 19 for a game set to start at 4 p.m.
