Rams and Eagles Edge Bison

Clearmont, Florida - The Bethany College softball team competed in the Spring Games in Clearmont, Florida Tuesday afternoon. The Bison were swept by the Rams and Eagles.

Game One Overview
Bethany fell Framingham St, 11-5
Bethany and Ripon battled throughout the first two innings. In the top of the third, the Bison struck first. Erica Amoroso tripled to right center, driving in Fran Capaldi. The Rams scored seven runs, five unearned in the bottom of the third. The Bison battled to cut the lead. In the top of fifth, Emily Folk singled to left field, driving in Amoroso and F. Capaldi, cutting the lead to 7-3. Folk later scored from the Rams walking Kaitlyn Mills, making the score 7-4. The Rams tacked on a few more runs in the bottom half of the inning, 11-4. In the seventh inning, the Bison tried to comeback, adding one more run from a Mills single, scoring Folk.

Game Two Overview
Bethany fell to Benedictine, 6-4
Benedictine jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning. Bethany got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second with a Fran Capaldi single that drove in her sister, Gabby Capaldi, cutting the Eagles lead 3-1. The Bison took the lead in the third inning. Kaitlyn Mills drove in Erica Amoroso. Moments later, Jennifer Oberthur tripled to right center, driving in Mills. The Eagles scored a run in the fifth inning to tie the ball game at 4-4. The Eagles later took a two run lead going into the bottom of the seventh.
