Softball Drops Two Against Capital

Bethany, W. Va - The Bethany College softball team took on Capital in a non-conference doubleheader Monday afternoon. The Bison fell to the Crusaders 5-0 and 8-3.

Bethany fell to Capital, 5-0

The Crusaders jumped out to 2-0 lead after three innings and tacked on two runs in the fourth and added their final run in the seventh inning. The Bison were held to three hits and left four runners on base.

Bethany fell 8-3 to Capital

The Crusaders struck first in the first inning taking a 1-0 lead. In the third inning Capital added another run coming off of a solo homerun. A Gabby Capaldi homerun in the bottom of the fourth put the Bison on the board. Going into the bottom of the fifth, the Bison trailed 4-1. Bethany's Tyra Bell singled driving in Jen Oberthur. The green and white trailed 4-2. Unfortunately, the Crusaders added on four runs to take an 8-2 lead going into the bottom of the seventh. Bethany had runners in scoring position, when Tyra Bell doubled to right center, scoring Emily Folk. A double play ended the Bison's chances of coming back.
