Women's Lacrosse Picked to Finish Seventh in Inaugural Season

Greenville, Pa - The Bethany College women's lacrosse team was picked to finish seventh in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released Friday along with the league's Players to Watch list.

W&J was picked to finish first in the PAC followed by St. Vincent and Franciscan.

Chatham University was selected fourth and was followed by Westminster College in fifth, Thiel College in sixth. Waynesburg University was picked to finish eighth.

The Bison are led by second year head coach Liz Geyer as she coaches the Bison in their inaugural-season of competition. The green and white are led by sophomore Ayana Crawford and freshmen Dearra Harrison and Cassidy Mallioux.

"The energy and effort this young group has brought from day one is contagious and I'm so excited for them to see it pay off on the field," stated Geyer.

"We have a great combination of experience and newness that balances well and keeps the focus when older players would usually get burnt out and younger ones would get frustrated. I'm so proud of them and we can't wait to keep learning."

Bethany will open the inaugural season of competition with West Va. Wesleyan on Feb. 24 at Bison Stadium. Face-off is slated for 1 pm.
