Women's Lacrosse Picks Up First Win in Program History

Bethany, W. Va – The Bethany College women's lacrosse team faced Muskingum in a non-conference tilt Saturday afternoon at Bison Stadium. The Bison picked up their first win in program history defeating the Muskies 17-11.

GAME OVERVIEW
Bethany struck first with a goal from Cassidy Mailloux in the first thirty seconds of the game. Mia Colon put the green and white up 2-0, with 28:55 to go in the first half. Muskingum went on a scoring spree scoring four straight goals in six minutes. Bethany's Ayana Crawford and Dearra Harrison scored two goals to knot the ballgame at 4-4. Bethany and Muskingum exchanged goals going into halftime tied at 6-6.

The green and white jumped ahead 9-6. Dearra Harrison, Rikiah Wise and Mia Colon all hit the back of the net to put the Bison ahead. The Muskies attempted to cut the lead, 9-8, but the Bison stretched the lead 12-8. Lindsey Cornish scored twice and Dearra Harrison each gave Bethany points. It was smooth sailing for the Bison in the second half. Bethany scored five more goals to give them a 17-11 victory.
