Women's Lacrosse: Jordan Blackburne Elevated To Head Women's Lacrosse Coach

Erikka Sansom, Director of Athletic Communications

BETHANY, W.Va. – Bethany College Director of Athletics Jill Willson and President Jamie Caridi announced Tuesday the promotion of Jordan Blackburne to head women's lacrosse coach.

"I have learned a lot over this past year at Bethany, and I am truly grateful to have the opportunity to stay and lead the program" said Blackburne.

Blackburne served as a graduate assistant coach last season for the Bison and is the second head coach in program history.

"I am delighted to appoint Jordan as our new Women's Lacrosse Coach" Caridi said.  "In our time together, it became clear to me that she exudes the wisdom, integrity and leadership that will take our College and the program to the next level.  I am extremely impressed with the expectations she has of our student athletes in the classroom and on the field."

"We are thrilled to promote Jordan to head coach" Willson remarked. "She brings a passion and undeniable work ethic to Bethany for developing young women on and off the field. We look forward to her continuing to build this young program and envision great things for our women's lacrosse program under Jordan's leadership."

During the 2022 season, Blackburne helped lead the Bison to the most wins in program history with a 7-10 record (2-6 PAC).

"I would like to thank President Caridi, Athletic Director Jill Willson and the search committee for giving me this wonderful opportunity to lead the Bison" added Blackburne. "I appreciate all the support I have received through this process and I'm excited to get started."

Blackburne comes to Bethany after graduating from Earlham College. She was a dual sport athlete competing in both soccer and lacrosse for four years.

During her time an Earlham, Blackburne earned All-Conference Second Team honors in soccer and All-Conference First and Second Team honors in lacrosse.

The Indianapolis native graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Global Management with a focus in Marketing from Earlham College. She is currently working towards her master's at Bethany College.
