WAYNESBURG, Pa. (BethanyBison.com) - The Bethany College women's soccer team was handed a 3-1 defeat by the hands of Waynesburg University in a Presidents' Athletic Conference tilt, Wednesday night, Oct. 10.

  • Final: Bethany 1, Waynesburg 3 (Box Score)

  • Records: Bethany 3-9, 0-4 PAC | Waynesburg 6-3-2, 2-1 PAC

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Lady Jackets got their first goal of the night in the 20th minute after Jill Moyer got one off eight yards out off of a cross in the box.

  • Waynesburg tacked on an insurance goal 17 minutes later when Natalie Fox buried it 15 yards off after a scruff in the box.

  • Coming out of the half, Waynesburg pushed its lead to three as Fortna gets past Bethany off a corner kick.

  • Senior Ashley Duthie (Madison, Ohio/Madison) broke the shutout with less than a minute remaining as she got one off 30 yards out and off the back right post.

MATCH NOTES

  • In between the posts, freshman Alex Moore (Portland, Ore./Glencoe) saw a full 90 minutes of action in between the posts. The Portland, Ore. native made a season-high 11 stops on the night, while allowing just three in.

  • Duthie's late strike marks the first of her career and snapped Bethany' three-game shutout skid.

The Bison return to Bison Stadium this weekend as they host Grove City College for a doubleheader with the men's team. Kick off is slated for 1 p.m. with the men following at 3:30 p.m.
