Bethany Volleyball Drops Two at Ginny Hunt Kilt Classic

WOOSTER, Ohio (BethanyBison.com) - The Bethany College Volleyball team dropped a pair of games during the opening day of the Ginny Hunt Kilt Classic in Wooster, Ohio, Friday, Sept. 14. The Bison started the weekend against host Wooster before falling to Pitt-Bradford, 3-1.

The Matchups

  • Match 1 Final: Bethany 0, Wooster 3 (25-20, 25-23, 25-21)

  • Match 2 Final: Bethany 1, Pitt-Bradford 3 (25-22, 25-19, 29-27, 25-21)

Bethany vs. Wooster Notes

  • Junior Lindsey Llewellyn (Vermilion, Ohio, Norwalk St. Paul) lead Bison on offense with 12 kills, while sophomore Natalie Spitale (East Canton, Ohio/East Canton) came close behind with 11 of her own.

  • The Bison struggled on the attacking end as they completed the game with a hitting percentage of .042 compared to Wooster's .176. However the Green and White tallied 38 kills through three sets, while Wooster came up with 37.

  • Defensively, four Bison notched a block, while senior Reilly Parker (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin), who registered her 2,000th career dig again Thiel (Sept. 12), continued to be a staple as she tallied 22 digs against the Fighting Scots.

Up Next

The Green and White will return to the court Saturday morning, Sept. 15, for the second and final day of the Ginny Hunt Kilt Classic. The Bison will open the day with an 11 a.m. tilt against the Bulldogs of Adrian College, before concluding the Classic with a 3 p.m. match against Denison College.
