Bison Volleyball Places Five on All-PAC Teams: Snyder Named Rookie of the Year

Greenville, Pa – The Presidents' Athletic Conference released its All-PAC women's volleyball teams and conference award winners Tuesday afternoon. Headlining the honorees were First-Team All-PAC selection Katie Sparks (Macedonia, Ohio | Trinity) along with first-team selection and PAC Rookie of the Year winner, Sydney Snyder (Steubenville, Ohio | Steubenville).

The freshman middle Snyder, had an outstanding freshman season for the Bison. Snyder finished third in the PAC with a .260 hitting percentage (226-85-551) and a whopping 79.0 total blocks. She led all Bison in blocks, including 20 solo. In league play this year, Snyder posted a .267 hitting percentage (132-46-322). Snyder posted 226 kills which landed her second-most among Bethany players this season.

Snyder is the sixth Bethany player to earn newcomer of the year honors, and the first since Reilly Parker in 2015.

Sparks earned her third straight All-PAC selection, as she led the Bethany offense throughout the 2019 campaign. This is the second straight year, Sparks has landed First-Team All-PAC honors. The senior outside hitter led the PAC in kills with 399 (3.35 per set) and points with 460.5 (3.87 per set). She has left her mark in Bethany College volleyball record books, landing in the top ten of three All-Time Records lists. She finishes her career third in kills (1,418), eighth in digs (1,284), and tenth in services aces (139).

Joining Snyder and Sparks on the All-PAC list were a duo of players who were tabbed Honorable Mention selections. Senior Rachel Gantzer (Morgantown, W.Va | Morgantown) and junior Jenna Scott (New Castle, Ind. | Liberty Christian) were given honorable mention nods.

Gantzer posted her best numbers this past season for the Bison. She notched 138 kills, 86 digs, and 27 blocks for the Green and White. She posted a career bests in 10 assists and 15 service aces this season.

Scott earned her second All-PAC award following the 2019 season. Scott earned All-PAC Second team her freshman year. The junior setter posted a team high 870 assists this past season. She notched 70 kills, 19 service aces, 145 digs, and 40 blocks.

Rounding out the list is sophomore Brooke Corley (Scottdale, Pa | Southmoreland), who earned PAC All-Sportsmanship honors for the Bison.

The Bison concluded their season in the PAC Tournament Quarterfinal against Grove City. The Green and White finished with an overall record of 17-15 (12-4 PAC).
