Baseball: Bethany Falls to W&J; Presidents Earn Series Sweep
Bethany, W.Va. – The Bethany College baseball team finished the three game series with the Washington & Jefferson College Presidents Sunday afternoon.
Game Overview
W&J 17, Bethany 5
Both teams battled in the first inning. W&J scored two runs taking a 2-0 lead. Bethany's Cameron Schaub singled to score Michael Whiteherse. The Presidents pulled ahead 3-1 in the second inning and exploded for nine runs and nine hits in the third inning. W&J led 12-1 after three innings.
In the fifth the Bison earned two runs off of a Dezmond Franklin homerun to left field. In the sixth, the Bison added a run after Blake Connelly drove in Colton Stoneman. The Presidents scored five runs in the eighth to extend their lead to 17-4. In the final Bison at bats, JT Hubert singled to left field to score Jacob Schmidt.
