Baseball: Black Earns PAC Rookie of the Week

Bethany, W.Va. – Bethany College freshman infielder Derek Black was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Rookie of the Week for his performance last week.

Black hit .636 (7-11) last week with a double, a triple, seven RBIs and seven runs scored for 2-3 Bethany.  He posted a .714 on-base percentage and slugged .909.  In Friday's 12-10 loss at Waynesburg, Black went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, four RBIs and one run scored. He is hitting .500 this spring. 

The weekly laurel is his first of the season.

Bethany is scheduled to play Saint Vincent on Thursday, May 5 at 4 pm at Bethany Park.
