Baseball: Bison Swept by Golden Tornadoes

Beaver Falls, Pa. – The Bethany College baseball team dropped a pair in a PAC doubleheader with Geneva College Thursday afternoon.

Game One Overview

Geneva 8, Bethany 1  

Geneva bats exploded five runs on five hits in the second inning. The Golden Tornadoes extended their lead in the third inning 6-0. In the fourth inning, the Golden Tornadoes added two runs to lead 8-0. The Bison were able to plate a run in the sixth inning after Logan Bennett singled to score Sawyer D'Andrea.

Game Two Overview

Geneva 6, Bethany 4

The Bison struck first scoring in the first inning. Kevin Pollock single to center field to drive in Michael Whiteherse. In the fourth inning, the Golden Tornadoes scored six runs on one hit and zero errors. The Golden Tornadoes drew seven walks in the inning. The Bison scored a run in the sixth inning off of a Dezmond Franklin sacrifice fly to right field that scored Michael Whiteherse. In the seventh, Hayden Fox singled to score Grant Schaffner, cutting the lead to 6-3. The Bison added another run in the 8th inning after Luke Beatty singled to center field to score Cameron Schaub.
