Women's Lacrosse: Bison fall to Titans on Senior Day

BETHANY, W.Va. – The Bethany College women's lacrosse hosted Westminster College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference contest at Bison Stadium, Sunday afternoon. The Bison celebrated their senior class prior to the game. The Titans spoiled the day for the Bison, defeating the Green and White, 9-5.

THE BASICS

Final Score: Westminster 9, Bethany 5

Records: Westminster (4-10, 2-5), Bethany (5-10, 1-6 PAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Bethany and Westminster went back and forth threw the first period. Cassidy Mailloux found the back of the net first off a pass from Karley Trinidad. Westminster answered and knotted the game at 1-1 at the 5:46 mark. The Bison regained the lead 35 seconds later after Jada Carter scored. The Titans scored the next two goals taking the lead back. With under ten seconds left in the period, Alexa Taylor scored to deadlock the game at 3-3.
  • In the second period, the Titans took the lead scoring the only goal of the period.
  • To open up the half, the Titans scored the first three goals to extend their lead to 7-3. Cassidy Mailloux scored her second goal of the game with 1:38 to go in the third.
  • In the final quarter, the Titans outscored the Bison, 2-1 to take the game, 9-5. The Bison goal came from freshman, Jada Carter with her second goal of the game.

  • Westminster held the slight shot advantage, 25-22.
  • Bethany held the draw control advantage, 12-6.
