Men's Lacrosse: Bison Edge Terriers
Hiram, Ohio – The Bethany College men's lacrosse team traveled to Hiram College for a non-conference match early Wednesday evening.
THE BASICS
Final Score: Bethany 9, Hiram 7
Records: Bethany (2-1, 0-0); Hiram (1-1, 0-0)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bethany and Hiram were neck-and-neck in the first period of play with the Bison taking a 3-2 advantage. Clay Yingling and Joshua Allegra both scored for the Bison in the first period of play. Allegra scored twice giving the Bison the advantage.
- In the second, Hiram knotted the game at 3-3 and held the Bison scoreless in the second period.
- The third period went back and forth between the Terriers and Bison. Tyler Britton, Joshua Allegra and Clay Yingling all scored for the Bison.
- Heading into the final period of play, Bethany and Hiram were tied 6-6.
- Bethany's Clay Yingling scored with 9:20 to go and 7:49 to go to give Bethany the lead. Hiram attempted to come back but the Bison held on for their second win of the season.
BISON TOP PERFORMERS
- Clay Yingling led the Bison with four goals. He had one assist and three groundballs on the night.
- Joshua Allegra had a hat-trick, scoring three goals.
- Tyler Britton and Aarin Burton both scored a goal each
- Bethany had assists from Clay Yingling and Raymond Rogers.
- Defensively, Dillion Davenport scooped up seven groundballs, while David Heldt caused three turnovers.
- Andrew Smith made 16 saves.
STATS OF THE GAME
- Bethany took 44 shots and were successful on 22-of-26 clear attempts.
