Men's Lacrosse: Russo Breaks Single Season Assist Record in Loss vs Barons

BETHANY- Men's Lacrosse hosted the Franciscan Barons for a game under the lights. The Bison were able to score double digits for the first time in April. The Bethany offense couldn't outpace the Barons extending their losing streak to six games.

How It Happened

• After giving up three quick points, the Bison started to bring the energy after Maurice Plummer scored back to back goals. 

• Plummer was able to earn his hat trick before the buzzer, however unforced turnovers plagued the Bison in the first period. The Bison trailed 7-3 entering the second period.

• Franciscan continued to take advantage of good looks by the net extending their lead in the second. Cameron Russo tied the record for single season assists helping Justice Smith score his first goal of the day.

• The beginning of the third quarter started to turn things in the Bison's favor when they scored three goals from the sticks of Russo (two) and Ethyn Taylor. The Franciscan offense erased the ground the Bison gained by scoring three goals in the later part of the quarter.

• Down 17-8 entering the fourth, the Bison were unable to put up 10 unanswered to earn a victory.

• Ending on a positive note in the fourth quarter were the Bison. Russo broke the single season assist record earning his 34th assist in the 2024 season. 

Bison Top Performers

• Plummer was the points leader with five points spread between three goals and two assists. 

• Russo broke the single season record for assists earning two in the game. He also added two goals to his statline.

• Christian Funari led the team with three caused turnovers.

• Christian Nestor ended the game with 13 saves.
