Men's Tennis selected sixth in PAC Preseason Poll

GREENVILLE, Pa. (Feb. 15) - The Bethany College men's tennis team was predicted to finish sixth in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll released Thursday afternoon by the league office.
Thomas More, who snapped Grove City College's 26-year reign of conference titles last year, was named the legaue-favorite after it earned four first-place votes and finished with 76 total points in this year's poll. Grove City earned five first-place votes and 75 total points to finish second. Saint Vincent College collected 59 points to finish third. Washington & Jefferson College was picked fourth (56) and was followed by Geneva College in fifth (38), Bethany College in sixth (33), Westminster College in seventh (32), Waynesburg University in eighth (25) and Thiel College ninth (11).
In addition to the poll announcement, senior Chris Ray (Henrico, Va./Mills E. Godwin) and junior Drake Berlin (Washington Court House, Ohio/Washington) were named to the 2018 PAC Men's Tennis Players to Watch list. Both went 8-5 last season in singles competition, while playing on separate doubles teams.
The Bethany College men's tennis season will get underway on Thursday, February 22 when the Bison face nearby Franciscan for a non-conference match at the Wheeling Indoor Tennis Center.
