Softball: Bison snap losing streak in split with Gators

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Bethany College softball opened up Presidents' Athletic Conference play at Allegheny College Sunday afternoon. The Bison and Gators split the series. The Green and White win snaps an eleven game losing streak.

Game One Overview

Allegheny 8, Bethany 0 (Six Innings)

Allegheny scored early in the first inning and never looked back. The Gators would score eight runs over the course of six innings to take the first game away from the Bison.

Game Two Overview

Bethany 6, Allegheny 1

Bethany took an early 3-0 lead in the first inning. Morgan Huey doubled to drive in Destiny Goodnight. Moments later, Elizabeth Shubert doubled to score Brooke Markland and Huey. In the third, Bethany added two runs. Morgan Huey singled to drive in Mary Marshall. Huey would later score on a wild pitch.

After being held scoreless through four innings, the Gators were able to plate a run in the fifth inning. The lone run would be the Gators only run of the game. The Bison added one run in the seventh of an Alexis Holden sacrifice bunt that scored Huey.

Josie Wise earned the win for the Bison, pitching a complete game. She had nine strikeouts.
