Swimming and Diving: Bethany women finish Day 1 at PAC Championships

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Bethany College swimming and diving program began its four-day run at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships Wednesday.

Through the first events of the championship on the women's side, Grove City leads the eight-team championship field with 116 points followed by Westminster (92) and Saint Vincent (88).

Bethany currently sits in sixth with 54 points.

The Bison women finished eighth in the 200 Yard Medley Relay (Ella Butterfield, Jaymie Schafer, Maya Metz and Jordan Haslacker) with a time of 2:17.48 for 22 points. The Green and White's 'B' squad (Ava Pittman, Callie Wood, Katelyn Lloyd and Mycha Gamble) finished 13^th with a time of 3:01.64 for eight points.

In the women's 800 Yard Freestyle Relay, the Bison (Jordan Haslacker, Jaymie Schafter, Maya Metz and Ella Butterfield) finished seventh with a time of 9:44.66 for 24 points.  

The men will begin competition on Thursday.

Day two of PAC Championship actions begins at 10 am on Thursday, Feb. 15 with preliminaries. The finals will begin at 5:30 pm.
