Women's Track and Field: Tice earns Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Bethany College women's track and field standout thrower Grace Tice (Mansfield, Pa. / North Penn-Mansfield) earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators on May 31.

Tice became the second female track and field athlete to qualify for the NCAA Championships and earned a 17th place finish in javelin with a throw of 118 feet, five inches (36.05 meters). She earned PAC SAAC Female Athlete of the Month honors in the month of April while adding USTFCCCA All-Region Honors to her accolades.

As a biochemistry major, her standout performance carries over into the classroom, in which she maintains a 3.76 GPA.  She is a three-time PAC Academic Honor Roll designee and also a member of the Bison women's volleyball team.

Tice is active on Bethany's campus and in the community. She is a member of SAAC, Tri-Beta Biology club, and Pre-Health club, and she is an RA. She also coaches youth volleyball at the Ohio Valley Volleyball Company.

All-District honors are selected by College Sports Communicators, which recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All‐America® program separately recognizes track and field/cross-country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Academic All‐District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America® ballot. First, second and third‐team Academic All‐America® honorees will be announced in late June.
