On April 10, 2016 the Bethany Athletic Department and Bison Baseball Program dedicated newly renovated Bethany Park, which saw significant upgrades beginning in the fall of 2015. Those upgrades included a new turf infield, which included a Bison logo behind the mound; brand new in-ground dugouts, more than double the size of the previous dugouts; new advertising signage on the scoreboard and painting of the backstop, press box and throughout the complex.
The Formal Dedication Program was highlighted by the College and President Dr. Tamara Nichols Rodenberg recognizing Board of Trustee Members Gary Novak ’76 and Doug Goin as the lead donors and visionaries behind the project. The College also recognized Rusty Schwertfeger, President of the Bethany Recreational Association as well as its Board members for working together with the College through this project and for planning for future renovations to the Park. Others who were recognized for their work in completion of the project included Bob Goin ’59, for his financial support through the renovations, contractor Paul Lombardi ’92, for his dedication and guidance through the project’s completion and Jay Eisenhauer and the Bethany Physical Plant for their work throughout the entire renovation.
