Bio

  • Michael Finlan is entering his second season as the head coach. 

 

  • Finlan earned his first career win in the first game of his coaching career at Bethany. It was a dramatic 5-3 walk-off home run against Pitt-Bradford (2/25/24).

  • Finlan coached three All-PAC selections in his first season at Bethany.

  • Came to Bethany from DIII Spalding, where he was the pitching coach leading the staff to 363 strikeouts and a 3.60 ERA 

  • During his one season at Spalding, Finlan helped coach the Golden Eagles to a 35-12 overall record, the program's first conference championship and first NCAA Tournament berth.  

  • Spent two seasons with Wheeling University starting in 2021.

  • In 2022, Finlan aided the Cardinals to one of their best offensive seasons in school history: Set a new program record for doubles (96), triples (20), and home runs (37). 

  • In 2021, Finlan led a pitching staff that included three All-Conference Honorees. As a unit, his staff had an impressive 1.74 WHIP, striking out 251.

  • Spent three seasons (2018-20) at Glenville State. In addition to his duties as pitching coach, he oversaw the strength and condition program for the baseball team.

  • Served as a graduate assistant coach with Ohio Valley University.  

  • Finlan pitched two seasons at perennial-power Marietta. He made 14 starts and finished his Pioneer career with a record of 6-5 on the bump.

  • Earned his Bachelor of Arts in sports management at Marietta College
