PAC announces WVU's Mylan Park as site of outdoor track and field championships

GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced that this year's PAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held at The Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park in Morgantown, W.Va.

The two-day championship event, hosted by Bethany College, is scheduled for Thursday-Friday, April 29-30.

"Shortly after this year's indoor championships were cancelled I immediately started thinking of ways we could make our outdoor championships something very special for our participating student-athletes," said Bethany head coach Andy Upton. "After many conversations with Coach (Sean) Cleary from WVU and the administration from Mylan Park, we were able to secure their two-year-old facility for this year's PAC outdoor championships. Moving our championships to a Big 12 venue at WVU will be an experience that our student-athletes will all look forward to and one that they will always remember. To have the ability to put our student-athletes in one of the best track facilities in the Northeast for the most important meet of the year seemed like something that we had to pursue, and I'm glad that we were able to see this plan come to fruition."

Built in 2018 and officially opened in 2019, The Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park features an eight-lane competition track with a Mondo running surface. The complex also features areas for long jump, triple jump, high jump and a fully enclosed grass infield for hammer, discus and javelin throw. It is the home of the West Virginia University (WVU) track and field and cross country teams.

"We are very excited to have the opportunity to host our outdoor track and field championship in a state-of-the-art Division I facility, and are grateful to the West Virginia University athletic department for providing this outstanding setting for our student-athletes," said PAC Commissioner Joe Onderko. "Coupled with our indoor track and field championship event held annually at Division I Youngstown State University, we are truly fortunate to be able to provide our track and field programs with championship competition settings that equal or surpass any NCAA Division III conference in the nation."

Information regarding potential spectator attendance at the event will be released later in April.
