Oberthur Earns All-PAC First Team Honors

Greenville, Pa – Freshman catcher Jennifer Oberthur was selected to the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) First Team, which was announced Wednesday morning. Ballots for the all-conference teams and annual award winners were voted on by the PAC's head coaches.

Oberthur finished her freshman season batting .350 with 36 hits and 25 runs batted in. The Indianapolis, Indiana native led the Bison in multiple offensive categories including batting average, slugging percentage (.485), hits (36), runs batted in (25), extra base hits (11), and total bases (50). The rookie catcher ranked third in runs scored (13) and second in on base percentage (.374). Oberthur earned PAC Rookie of the Week honors earlier this season.

In addition to Oberthur, senior Emily Folk (OF) and junior's Erica Amoroso (SS), Tyra Bell (1B), and Kayla Dinsmore (DH) were named PAC Honorable Mention.

Folk finished the season first on the team in runs scored (22), stolen bases (9), and sacrifice bunts (3). She finished with a .302 batting average, .318 on base percentage and a .326 slugging percentage. Primarily the Bison centerfielder, Folk posted a .969 fielding percentage.

Junior Erica Amoroso served primarily as the Bison shortstop finished the year in the top four in multiple offensive categories. She finished first on the team in triples (2) and second on the team in runs scored (19) and sacrifice bunts (2). She posted a batting average of .292, slugging percentage of .349, and on base percentage of .330 which were fourth best on the team. Amoroso drove in nine runs for the Bison.

Junior first basemen Tyra Bell finished the season batting .324 with 33 hits and 17 runs batted in. Bell was second on the team in extra base hits (11) and led the team with 10 doubles.

Junior Kayla Dinsmore held the designated hitter role throughout the season drawing a team high 10 walks and team high five hit by pitches. Dinsmore drove in 17 runs and led the Bison with an on base percentage of .402.

Under first year head coach Cassie Moore, the Bison finished the 2019 campaign 10-22 (7-9).
