Bison defeat Geneva on Senior Day 3-0

BETHANY, W.Va. (Oct. 28) – The Bethany College volleyball team picked up a 3-0 win (25-18, 25-20, 25-18) over Geneva Saturday afternoon in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at the Hummel Field House on Senior Day to conclude the 2017 regular-season.

- Sophomore Katie Sparks (Macedonia, Ohio/Trinity) led the Bison with a kill-dig double-double of 15 kills on 45 attacks (.267 hitting percentage) with 12 digs on defense.
- Senior Sumayyah Muhammad (Warren, Ohio/Warren G. Harding) added seven kills with a pair of solo blocks in the win. Muhammad, the team's lone senior, was honored prior to the match. She ranks sixth all-time in assisted blocks and now has 36 solo blocks this season, the most by a Bison since 2012.
- Freshman Jenna Scott (New Castle, Pa./Liberty Christian) guided the offense with 36 assists and added eight digs.
- Junior Reilly Parker (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) chipped in a team-best 19 digs and leads the PAC with 5.53 digs per set this season.

- Bethany has clinched the No. 3 seed in the upcoming PAC Tournament and will host No. 6 seed Chatham in an opening-round game on Tuesday, October 31 at 7 p.m. inside the Hummel Field House.
- The winner of that match will travel to Crestview Hills, Kentucky for a semifinal match against No. 2 seed Westminster (first-round bye) on Friday, November 3.
