DANBURY, Conn. (April 11) – For the second-straight week, Bethany College freshman pitcher Tyler Alworth (Brackenridge, Pa./Highlands) was tabbed the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rookie of the Week announced the organization on Tuesday.

Alworth, who was also named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Rookie of the Week on Monday, kept Saint Vincent off balance in the Bison's 5-1 win over the Bearcats on Saturday. He retired the first 12 batters of the game and went the distance, allowing just one run on a seventh inning solo home run. He limited Saint Vincent to three hits and struck out a pair to earn his second win on the mound this season.

Alworth is now the two-time reigning PAC and ECAC Rookie of the Week after also earning the awards for his efforts in a 2-1 game one win over Westminster two weeks ago.

Alworth and the rest of the Bison are back on the diamond when they host Washington & Jefferson for a single-game at Bethany Park on Wednesday, April 12 at 4 p.m.
