Garvey to Coach the U.S 16 National Team in International Bowl
Bethany, W.Va – Head football coach Bill Garvey was selected as an assistant coach for the Under-16 U.S National team in the International Bowl in Arlington, Texas.
The Under-16 U.S National team will face team Mexico at 9:00 am, Friday, Jan. 19, at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. The team consists of some of the best high school players worldwide. There are 16 teams total in the International Bowl; joining the U.S are teams from Mexico, Panama, Canada, and Japan.
In his sixth season, Coach Garvey led the Bethany football team to their first five-win season since 2015. The Bison also finished above .500 in the conference for the first time since 2014 (5-3). Bethany finished the season 5-5, (5-4).
"I am honored to have been selected to represent our country in the International Bowl and extremely excited to get started", stated head coach Bill Garvey.
Coach Garvey will be coaching with former Bethany football defensive coordinator Joe Battaglia.
