Bethany, W.Va. – The Bethany College men's lacrosse team open up Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play against the Thiel College Tomcats Saturday afternoon. Prior to the match, Bethany honored their eight seniors.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Clay Yingling put the Bison on the board for the first goal of the season, scoring with 12:05 to go in the first.
- Thiel tied the game a 1-1 with just over eight minutes to go in the first period.
- Tyler Britton and Joshua Allegra both scored for the Bison to take a 3-1 lead heading into the second period.
- The Tomcats outscored the Bison 4-1 in the second period to take a 5-4 lead into halftime.
- In the third, the Tomcats scored four straight goals to extend their lead to 9-4.
- Bethany's Joshua Allegra and Raymond Rogers scored for the Bison to cut the lead to three, 9-6.
- To begin the fourth, Thiel scored to take a 10-6 lead.
- Aarin Burton scored followed by Joshua Allegra to cut the lead to two. However, the Tomcats strung together three goals to take the game 13-8.
BISON TOP PERFORMERS
- Joshua Allegra led the Bison with three goals.
- Tyler Britton added two goals, while Clay Yingling, Aarin Burton and Raymond Rogers all scored one goal for the Bison.
- Dillon Davenport scooped up 15 groundballs while going 17-for-26 on faceoffs.
- Andrew Smith registered 27 saves.
- Christian Funari had one assist and caused three turnovers.
- Conor Sinclair finished with five caused turnovers.
STATS OF THE GAME
- Andrew Smith moves to second on Bethany's all-time career saves list with 679.
- Thiel outshot the Bison 50-37.
- Both teams went a combined 2-for-12 on man up opportunities.
