Women's Lacrosse: Wise Scores Career High Six Goals in Loss to Franciscan

Bethany, W.Va. – The Bethany College women's lacrosse team hosted the Franciscan Lady Barons for their home opener at Bison Stadium, Saturday evening. The Bison fell to the Lady Barons in a high scoring match, 19-11. Rikiah Wise led the Bison with six goals and three assists.

GAME OVERVIEW

The Barons would start fast. Scoring three goals within the first two minutes of the game. Franciscan led 4-0 before the Bison netted a goal. Elizabeth Poletis hit the back off the net for the Bison to put them on the board. Almost two minutes later, Alexa Taylor scored for the Bison. The Bison trailed 5-2 after the first eight minutes of play.

Rikiah Wise the next two goals for the Bison, cutting the Barons' lead to 7-4. The Bison scored the next two goals from Cassidy Mailoux and Alexa Taylor cutting the lead to one, 7-6. The Barons would go on a three goal run to take a 10-4 lead heading into the intermission.

Mailloux led off the second half with a Bison goal. Wise scored the next two goals for the Bison bringing the Bison within two, 11-9. However, the Barons went on another five goal run to build the lead back up. Wise scored the next three goals for the Bison cutting the deficit to 16-11 with under five minutes left in the game.
