Men's Lacrosse: Bison Hang on to 15-10 Victory Over Barons
Bethany, W.Va. – The Bethany College men's lacrosse team hosted the Franciscan Barons Wednesday evening. The Bison defeated the Barons, 15-10. Freshman Andre Currie led the Bison with four goals and Khoury Kloss dished out four assists.
GAME OVERVIEW
Franciscan took a 2-0 lead for the first ten minutes of play. Tyler Britton got the Bison on the board with 6:29 to go in the first. A minute later, Andre Currie scored his first of four goals to knot the game at 2-2. Franciscan added another goal, but the Bison answered after Aarin Burton scored with eight seconds to go in the period. Bethany and Franciscan were deadlocked at 3-3 after one period of play.
In the second period, Bethany outscored Franciscan, 5-1. Clay Yingling and Joshua Allegra scored in the opening minutes of the second. Andre Currie scored the next three goals. Bethany led 8-4 heading into the break.
Bethany outscored Franciscan 3-2 in the third. The Barons attempted to make the game interesting in the fourth, scoring three goals in almost a minute and half. With 2:04 left in the game, the Barons trailed by four but the comeback would come up short after Clay Yingling added another goal to seal the victory.
