How It Happened

  • The Bison offense seemed to spark in their prior game against Waynesburg. They carried that same momentum into their victory over Saint Vincent scoring five goals in the first quarter, including a four goal run. The Bearcats did manage to score two goals within the last 40 seconds to make it a 5-3 contest.

  • Carpenter earned her hat-trick at the very start of the second quarter while taking advantage of a man-up opportunity.

  • After giving up a goal, Bethany went back-to-back on free position shots. One was from Carpenter while the other came from the stick of Janez Matthews

  • Jada Carter earned her third goal with 20 seconds remaining in the half, but the Bearcats were able to steal one as time expired. The Bison held onto a 9-5 game entering half.

  • Carpenter continued to set the tone at the start of each quarter by being the first to score in the third. She scored once more on a free position shot later in the quarter, however the Bearcat offense got the better of the Bison, outshooting them 3-2.

  • The team regained focus and won the fourth quarter. Carpenter had her record-breaking seventh score. Three Bison found the back of the net for the first time in the final quarter: Gracie Gonzales, Lexie Reed, and Karley Trinidad.

  • With emotions sky high, Bethany won 15-11 with an impressive offensive performance.

Bison Top Performers

  • Carpenter ended the game with seven goals on eight shots, earning her the crown for the most goals scored in a single game by a Bison.

  • Carter earned a hat-trick. All three of her goals came in the first half.

  • Leah Crihfield led the team in saves and percentage. She was .667% with eight saves.
