Women's Track and Field: Mahaffey earns All-Region honors from USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Bethany College's Alexis Mahaffey earned recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on the All Mid-Atlantic Region Indoor Track and Field Teams which were announced Tuesday.

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region on the year-end Descending Order Lists earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season.

Mahaffey earned a second place finish in the weight throw. Her mark of 15.05m broke her previous record to earn a spot on the podium. She earned All-Region honors in the weight throw.

The Bison will begin their outdoor season on Mar. 16 when they host the Bethany Invitational at Bison Stadium.
