Baseball Splits with Penn College

Myrtle Beach, S.C. - The Bethany College baseball traveled south for their spring break trip and opened up the Ripken Experience late Sunday afternoon. Bethany faced Pennsylvania College of Technology in a doubleheader. The Bison and Wildcats split the doubleheader with the Bison taking game two. Senior Isaac Wengert picked up his 100th career strikeout in game one.

Game One Overview

Bethany fell Penn College, 8-4  

Bethany fell behind early in the first inning. The Bison were able to score two runs to knot the game in the top of the second. However, the Wildcats tacked on two more runs to take the lead for good. The Bison attempted to comeback, cutting the lead to 5-3 in the fifth and 5-4 in the sixth. Unfortunately for the Green and White the Wildcats sealed the deal with three insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Isaac Wengert took the loss for the Bison. In the five innings his pitched he struck out four and walked one. Wengert picked up his 100th career strikeout in the first inning. Bethany had two dingers in the game. Tyler Alworth went yard in the sixth and Michael Whiteherse's left the park in the second.

Bethany defeated Penn College, 7-3  

Bethany took a four run lead over Penn College. In the fifth inning, the Wildcats plated three runs to cut the lead to one. However, the Bison were able to seal the win by adding three insurance runs. Michael Whiteherse and Noah Rady both had multiple hits in game two.
