Truex earns weekly PAC rookie laurels

GREENVILLE, Pa. (Dec. 12) – Bethany College freshman forward Chaice Truex (Wheeling, W.Va./St. John Central (Ohio)) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Rookie of the Week announced the league office Monday afternoon.

Truex averaged 13.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists coming off of the bench last week to help the Bison split a pair of games against Franciscan and Thomas More. He averaged 24.0 minutes of court time during those two contests.

The Wheeling, West Virginia native finished with a game-high 18 points and nine rebounds in a win over Franciscan to open the week. Truex finished the week with nine points and four rebounds in a 76-72 loss at Thomas More.

Truex currently ranks second among freshman in the PAC with 11.8 points per game this season.

This marks the second-time this season that Truex has earned the weekly rookie laurel from the league. He also earned the nod last month for his efforts during the opening week of the season.

Truex and the rest of the Bison have the week off and are back on the court on Monday, December 19 when they host Westminster around 5 p.m. (The game was originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m.)
