Swimming Falls Short on Senior Day

Bethany, W.Va.- The Bethany College men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed against Penn. St. Altoona Saturday afternoon inside Knight Natatorium. Before the meet the green and white honored their three seniors, Anthony Helias, Mark Tichenor, and Cheyne Stresky. The Bison fell 168-122 to the Lions.

Top Performers

Men
The men were led by first place performances from Cheyne Stresky, Chandler Chafins, and Damon Chafins.

In his last home swim meet of his career, Cheyne Stresky won the 50 Freestyle, hitting the wall first in 21.73 seconds. Stresky also won the 100 Backstroke, tapping the wall in 55.97 seconds.

Chandler Chafins hit the wall first in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:06.97 and came second in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 1:03.66.

Damon Chafins rounded out the first place finishes for the Bison winning the 100 Butterfly, tapping the wall in 58.85 seconds.

Mark Tichenor finished second for the Bison in the 50 Freestyle hitting the wall in 25.32 seconds.

Women
The women were led by Micki Webster with a first place finish in the 100 freestyle. Webster hit the wall in 1.02.01. Webster finished second for the Bison in the 200 freestyle (2:14.64) and 500 freestyle (6:10.67).

Madison Cramer finished second in the 100 Freestyle tapping the wall in 1:06.91.

The Bethany Swimming and Diving team returns to the pool when they travel to Salam, W.Va to take on Frostburg State and Salam in a tri-meet, Saturday Jan. 26 at 1pm.
