Women's Lacrosse Opens 2020 Season at Marietta

Marietta, Ohio  – The Bethany College women's lacrosse team opened up the 2020 season at Marietta College Monday evening. The Pioneers cruised past the Bison 18-7. Lindsey Cornish led the Bison with 3 goals and Ayana Crawford added 2 goals for the Green and White.

GAME OVERVIEW

Marietta scored first to take a quick lead. Bethany's Lindsey Cornish scored forty-four seconds later to knot the game at 1-1. The Pioneers took a 10-1 lead at the 15:17 mark of the first half. The Bison's Rikiah Wise hit the net with 14:56 in the half. Celeste Marchbanks and Lindsey Cornish both scored to give the Bison four in the first half. The Pioneers held a ten point (14-4) lead going into the break.

In the second half, the Bison were able to hit the net three times, off the stick of Lindsey Cornish and Ayana Crawford. Crawford scored twice in the second half. The Pioneers were able to maintain the lead and pull away with a win.
