Women's Soccer drops game to Grove City, 3-0

Oct. 8 - BETHANY, W. Va. - The Bethany women's soccer team fell to Grove City 3-0 in their annual Homecoming game.

The Wolverines got on the board first in the 11th minute when a corner was deflected by Lacy Harkrader and skipped past the goalie. Grove City held much of the offensive pressure, tallying eight corners in the first half to help them hold the 1-0 lead into halftime. 

Bethany came out strong on offense to start the second half. Madison Cochran ripped a shot off in the opening minute of the second half but the Wolverine's goalkeeper stepped in front of her for the save.

In the 55th minute Harkrader took a skip pass from the right side and finished to give Grove City a 2-0 lead. The Wolverines added another goal in the 69th minute to close out the scoring.

Bison keeper Taylor Sasak registered 10 saves, a new season-high in the loss.

Bethany drops to 2-9 (0-3, PAC) while Grove City improves to 9-3 (2-1, PAC). Next, The Green and White host Saint Vincent on Wednesday with kickoff slated for 4 p.m.
