Frazier breaks 32-year old javelin school-record at Bethany Mini-Meet

BETHANY, W.Va. (April 18) - Junior Patience Frazier (Washington, Pa./Washington) broke the 32-year old school-record in the javelin Wednesday night at the Bethany Mini-Meet.

Frazier won the event with a distance of 38.92 meters (127 feet, eight inches) to break former Bison Barbara Kushner's school-record throw of 36.26 meters (119 feet), which was established in 1986. She also placed eighth in the shot put with a throw of 10.76 meters (35 feet, three inches).

Sophomore Amanda Gower (Washington, Pa./Trinity) finished in second place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 62.18 seconds.

Senior Elizabeth Timas (Middlefield, Ohio/Cardinal) crossed the tape in fourth place in the 800-meter run with a final time of two minutes, 28.05 seconds.

Senior Andrea Precurato (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) cleared 2.75 meters (nine feet) in the pole vault to place second overall.

The Bethany College track & field team will now turn its attention to the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships on Wednesday and Thursday, April 25-26 in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. Westminster will host the outdoor championships this year.
