Football: Six Named to All-PAC Teams
Greenville, Pa. - The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released its 2021 All-PAC Football teams and conference award winners Tuesday Afternoon. Six Bethany College players were named to All-PAC teams.
Senior defensive back Danny Gilbert Jr. was named All-PAC Second Team for the first time in his career.
Gilbert Jr. led the Bison defense with a team high five interceptions and eight pass breakups. The Miami, Florida native finished the season with 60 tackles (39 solo) and 2.0 tackles for loss.
Earning All-PAC Honorable Mention were Brennan Secrist (WR), De'Vaughn McWhorter (AP), Jordan Aldridge (DL), Rondell Lewis (LB) and Dadrick Vickers (DB).
Sophomore wide receiver, Secrist led the Bison with 559 receiving yards (62.1 average per game) and a team high four touchdowns. The Weirton, W.Va. native had 35 reception. His 62.1 yards per game ranked ninth for
Junior wide receiver McWhorter earned All-PAC Honorable Mention All Purpose this season. He finished the season with two touchdowns and had 1041 all-purpose yards. His 5.0 receptions per game ranked eighth in the PAC. The Wheeling, W.V native had 414 receiving yards and 539 kick return yards. He averaged 104.1 yards per game. McWhorter's 539 kick return yards lands him in the top-five of Bethany's single season kickoff return yards list.
Lewis led the PAC all season with 98.0 tackles (51 solo). He had a team high 6.5 tackles for loss and 1 sack for nine yards. The Beachwood, Ohio native had one pass breakup.
Aldridge finished the season with 38 tackles (21 solo). The Wheeling, W.Va. native had 6.0 tackles for loss with one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Vickers finished the season with 31 tackles (22 solo) and had a team-high eight pass breakups. The Miami Gardens, native had one interception on the season and has a career total of nine interceptions.
Senior quarterback Dom Salinetro earned PAC Football Sportsmanship Team honors.
