Women's Track and Field: Tice earns PAC SAAC Female Athlete of the Month

TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - Bethany junior Grace Tice (Mansfield, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Female Scholar-Athlete of the Month for March.

Each month, the SAAC groups at PAC member institutions are asked to nominate one male and one female student-athlete for PAC SAAC Scholar-Athlete of the Month consideration based on academic and athletic accomplishments. Nominees must be varsity team members in their respective sport and in their junior or senior year. Scholar-Athlete of the Month nominees must also have a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher and be actively involved within their campus communities.

During the month of March, Tice placed first in the javelin at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge with a mark of 37.45m. She continued a stellar performance placing second at the Stan Romanoski Open and Bethany Invitational with throws of 36.09m and 33.67m. The Bison junior currently ranks eighth in the NCAA for javelin.  

The track & field standout's performance carries over into the classroom, as the biochemistry major maintains a 3.75 GPA. She has been named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll.

Tice is active on Bethany's campus and in the community. She is a member of SAAC as well as the Tri-Beta biology club, Pre-Health club and is an RA. Tice also coaches youth volleyball at the Ohio Valley Volleyball Company.

The monthly laurel is Tice's first of her career.
