Men's Lacrosse: Smith leads Bison in PAC Postseason Honors

TRAFFORD, Pa. – Three Bethany College men's lacrosse athletes were recognized by the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Friday morning when the PAC released its postseason awards for the recently completed season.

Senior Andrew Smith (Erie, Pa./McDowell) earned All-PAC Second Team honors for the second straight season. As the Bison goalie, Smith finished his stellar career with 1,112 career saves which ranks third in NCAA Division III. He holds the all-time career saves record at Bethany while finishing leading the NCAA Division III for saves per game (22.79) and save percentage (66.3) in 2022.  This season, he finished with 249 saves in 15 games between the posts. He recorded a 64.3 save percentage in 785:47 minutes.

Senior Clay Yingling (Libertytown, Md./Linganore) and sophomore Maurice Plummer (Mt. Lebanon, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) earned All-PAC Honorable Mention honors.

Yingling finished his career as the all-time leading scorer in Bison history with 108 goals. His 155 career points and 47 assists rank second all-time. Over the last two years of his career, he scored 76 goals with 107 points. He finished with a shot on goal percentage of 62.3 and 408 total shots (254 on goal). He finished the season with a team-high 52 points (37 goals).

Plummer emerged to being one of the top midfielders for the Bison this season. He scored 15 goals and had 8 assists while scooping up 47 groundballs. He had a 47.2 shots on goal percentage and caused nine turnovers.

Smith also earned PAC Sportsmanship Team honors.
