Softball: Bison Sweep Tomcats

Bethany, W.Va – The Bethany College softball team hosted the Thiel College Tomcats Wednesday afternoon on Bison Field. The Bison swept the Tomcats, 8-0 (5 innings) and 7-0.   

Game One Overview

Bethany earned an 8-0, win over Thiel

Bethany struck first after Jen Oberthur tripled to lead off the second inning. Moments later, Madison Andrejcik singled driving in Oberthur to give the Bison a 1-0 lead. The Bison bats came alive in the bottom of the fourth. The Green and White scored seven runs. Morgan Huey doubled driving in two runs. Andrejcik doubled driving in three runs.

Game Two Overview
Bethany cruised to a 7-0 win over Franciscan  

Bethany held onto a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Alex Kopec drove in Andrejcik. The Bison tacked on two runs in the fourth inning Paige Allen reached on an error scoring Kopec and Allen later scored to take a 3-0 lead. In the bottom of the fifth, Oberthur singled driving in Barrass. The Bison had two long balls in the sixth inning adding three insurance runs. Paige Allen and Jen Oberthur both homered. Oberthur's shot to left center was a two-run homerun.
