Men's Basketball: Bison hit century mark to get back in the win column

BETHANY, W.Va. – The Bethany College men's basketball team earned a spot back in the win column after defeating Washington & Jefferson College, 105-75 inside Hummel Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon.

GAME FLOW/HIGHLIGHTS

  • Bethany went on a 6-0 run to start the game. After the Presidents knotted the game at 6-6, the Bison went on a 16-4 run to take a double-digit lead. The Green and White led by as many as 29 in the first half.
  • The Bison held a 56-27 lead heading into the locker rooms for halftime.
  • During the first half, Cole Dailey eclipsed 100 career blocks after having four blocks.
  • The Bison led by as many as 30 but the Presidents wouldn't back down. W&J cut the deficit to 15 but wouldn't be able to get past the hump. Bethany used a 19-4 run to take the game by 30.  

IN THE BOX SCORE

  • Six Bison had at least 10+ points in the victory. The Bison were led by Ben Guffey with 17 points (4-of-9 from behind the arc), followed by Troy Hixson (14), Tony Fox (14), Jaydis Kennedy (13), Will Brooks (11) and Cole Dailey (11).
  • Dailey had his ninth double-double of the season with 13 rebounds. He had a team-high six assists and four blocks.
  • Kennedy added seven rebounds and a team-high five steals.

BY THE NUMBERS

  • Bethany held W&J to a cold 2-of-22 from behind the arc, while hitting 11-of-36.
  • The Bison shot 48.1 percent while the Presidents shot 42.5 percent.
  • The Green and White edged the Presidents on the boards, 49-40.

Bethany will return to the court on Saturday, Feb. 3 when they travel to Grove City, Pa. for a PAC matchup against Grove City College for a 3 pm tipoff.
