Men's Basketball: Bison fall late to Wolverines
GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Bethany College men's basketball team was edged by Grove City College, 70-69 Saturday afternoon.
GAME FLOW/HIGHLIGHTS
- For majority of the game, the Bison and Wolverines exchanged the lead 21 times while deadlocking the score 11 times.
- The Bison held a narrow 35-30 lead with one minute remaining in the first half. The Wolverines however, would close out the first half on a 6-0 run to take a slim 36-35 lead heading into the halftime break.
- Ben Guffey hit a three to knot the game at 38-38.
- The Bison and Wolverines were tied at 64-64 with under five minutes to go.
- With the Bison holding a two-point lead, 69-67, after Troy Hixson hit a three for his 18th point of the game. The Wolverines hit a three with 1:07 to go in the game.
- The Bison had plenty of opportunities to take the lead but the basketball wouldn't fall for the Green and White.

- Bethany was led by Troy Hixson with 18 points (4-of-7 from behind the arc).
- Tony Fox added 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
- Cole Dailey added 11 points with seven rebounds.
- Will Brooks had a team high five steals and Jaydis Kennedy had four blocks.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Grove City went 30-for-72 from the field and 7-for-23 from behind the arc. Bethany went 22-for-65 and 10-for-34 from behind the arc.
- The Wolverines edged the Bison on the boards, 49-42.
- The Bison scored 21 points off turnovers.
