Bethany Places 48 on Presidents' Athletic Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll

Greenville, Pa – Bethany College featured 48 scholar-athletes on the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) 2019 Fall Academic Honor Roll announced by the league office Tuesday morning.

Leading the way for Bethany were the women's volleyball team who placed 12 scholar-athletes on the honor roll. Women's cross-country followed with nine, followed by men and women's soccer with eight apiece, and women's tennis with five.  Football and men's cross-country rounded out the fall sports with three athletes each.

The PAC Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes on varsity sports teams who have earned a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale during their semester of competition.

The Fall 2019 total represents a 4.8 percent increase in honorees from the Fall 2018 honor roll, which featured 529 student-athletes.

Last year (2018-19), a combined total of 1,097 PAC student-athletes were recognized on the PAC Academic Honor Rolls (528 fall, 569 spring).

Waynesburg led the nine full-time league schools and two affiliate members with 70 student-athletes earning PAC Fall 2019 Academic Honor Roll recognition. Westminster College was next with 62 and was followed by Geneva College with 61 and Grove City College with 60. Carnegie Mellon University had 51 student-athletes recognized and was followed by Saint Vincent College (49), Bethany College (48), Washington & Jefferson College (46), Thiel College (40), Chatham University (38) and Case Western Reserve University (30).
