Men's Soccer: O'Garro Earns PAC Defensive Player of the Week

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Bethany College men's soccer junior defender, Jahzinho O'Garro earned Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts last week.

O'Garro helped Bethany secure a 2-0 record last week. The Bison posted a 2-1 victory at Thiel Tuesday night before earning a 2-0 shutout over W&J on Saturday. O'Garro assisted Arnold Fontas-Candida's game-tying goal in the 30th minute at Thiel before netting the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 65th minute. Saturday against W&J he assisted Sebastian Arrocain's first goal in the 61st minute before scoring a goal in the 82nd minute off assists from Pedro Chillemi and Sylvanus Foday.

A starter in all of Bethany's 17 matches this fall, O'Garro has a program-high 16 points on six goals and four assists. O'Garro is 4-for-4 on penalty kicks. Bethany has a combined seven shutouts this season and ranks second in the league with a 1.12 goals-against average.

The weekly laurel is O'Garro's first of the season.

Bethany hosts Westminster on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 6:30 pm on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium.
