Men's Soccer: Chillemi scores twice in Bison win over Red Hawks

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Bethany College men's soccer team earned their first win of the 2023 season in a 4-2 victory over La Roche University Wednesday evening.  

THE MATCHUP

• Bethany 4, La Roche 2

THE HIGHLIGHTS

• The Bison struck first in the 20^th minute after Pablo Aguilera scored his first career goal, giving the Green and White the early lead.
• The Red Hawks knotted the match a 1-1 in the 38^th minute.
• The match didn't stay deadlocked long. Senior Pedro Chillemi scored his first goal of the match in the 39^th minute and would later score the Bison's last goal in the 59^th minute.
• Graduate student Sheldon Christian scored the Bison's third goal of the match.
• The Red Hawks cut the deficit in half, but it wasn't enough to battle back.

MATCH NOTES

• Bethany outshot La Roche, 14-9 with nine shots on goal.
• Both teams were even with five saves apiece.
