Men's Soccer: Bison drop thriller to Presidents in final minute

WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Bethany College men's soccer team lost a heartbreaker with Washington & Jefferson College scoring two goals in the final five minutes of the match to win, 2-1 over the Bison.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

  • It was a scoreless match until the 78th minute when Taivier Stewart scored the first goal of the match for the Bison.
  • The Presidents battled and knotted the match at 1-1.
  • With time running out, the Presidents would find the back of the net to take a 2-1 lead.

MATCH NOTES

  • W&J outshot Bethany, 17-13 with nine shots on goal. The Bison had six shots on goal.
  • The Bison played down a man in the final 19 minutes.
  • Matteo Pintus had seven saves.
