SB: Back-to-Back For Wise

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - For the second straight week, fifth-year hurler Josie Wise has been honored by the Presidents' Athletic Conference.

Wise has been named the PAC Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced today (Monday, March 24, 2025). It marks the fifth time in her career she has earned the weekly pitching award in her career.

Junior Brooke Markland was named PAC Hitter of the Week following her week one performance, marking three consecutive weeks a Bethany player has been honored by the conference.

"Back-to-back weeks being named PAC pitcher of the week is a huge honor for Josie," said Bethany College Head Softball Coach Olivia Scarbrough. "She provided us with a great start to begin our conference schedule off strong. Our offense continues to allow Josie the freedom to dominate early and often on the mound."

Wise allowed two earned runs, five total, over 14 innings for an outstanding 1.00 ERA over three appearances. She earned two wins and a save for the Bison while recording 19 strikeouts. The right-hander threw a four-hit shutout with five strikeouts against LaRoche and then struck out a season-high 13 Franciscan batters in the game one win. Wise returned in a one-run game in the nightcap and silenced the Barons hitters for the save.

On the season, Wise is 8-0 with a 1.64 ERA. She has 55 strikeouts in 47.1 innings.

Bethany (14-0) returns to action 3 p.m. Tuesday, hosting Capital in non-conference action.
