Bethany earns win at Muskingum, 8-1

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio (Oct. 1) - The Bethany College women's tennis team earned its second win of the season with an 8-1 win over Muskingum Monday evening in a non-conference match at the Cambridge City Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bison claimed all three doubles matchups, including a forfeit win at No. 3 doubles due to insufficent players for the Muskies.
- Kristin Schafbuch (Marpingen, Germany/Arnold Janssen) Alyssa Smydo (Scenery Hill, Pa./Bentworth) earned an 8-2 win at the top doubles position.
- Both went on to win their matches at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively. Schafbuch took the top position 8-0, while Smydo notched an 8-1 win at No. 2 singles.
- Juniors Emily Folk (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) and Fran Capaldi (Steubenville, Ohio/Catholic Central) won at No. 2 doubles 8-1.
- Folk went on the win at No. 3 singles 8-4, while freshman Dawson McHarg claimed the Bison's other win at No. 5 singles with a 8-0 win.

- Bethany is at home again Wednesday afternoon when they host Waynesburg for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at the Ewing Tennis Center.
